How would you describe what inspires you to do what you do?

I've loved music since I can only remember. I want to give something to others. Make them smile, and sometimes even make them cry. That's why I'm an artist. I have an opportunity to move people. Inspiration for my tunes comes from everyday experiences. I like to watch what happens around me then write about it.

What would you define as the most life-changing event so far in your musical career?

I think moving to the United States is the most life-changing event in my musical career so far. If I hadn't moved here I wouldn't have met Paul Scherer, who I created my debut album”All That I Am” with. He's a composer of most of the tunes, he also arranged them and produced the album.

At what point in your life did you make the decision to become a professional musician and actually record your own albums?

It was back in Poland when I entered the jazz program studies at the University of Music. It was the only accredited program in my country. They allowed only one vocalist and there were 50 people trying to study there. If you pass the exams you'll be a professional musician. This is when the decision was made. I passed the exams. I've always wanted to sing the style and the tunes that I like. I'm not too happy when I don't have an artistic freedom. That is why I record my own album. I can sing whatever I want and it makes me feel good. And I'm even more flattered if what I do is appreciated by the audience.

How would you finish this sentence? “I don’t like to go a day without_________?

I don't like to go a day without music.

What would your top “desert island” classic albums be, regardless of genre… the albums you turn to time after time for your own personal enjoyment and inspiration?

It would be a discography of Stevie Wonder. It consists of so many inspirational tunes that give happiness and excitement. I would also choose Betty Carter's – Finest Hour, Quincy Jones' albums and J.S Bach's “Brandenburg Concertos.”

What are you most proud of at this point in your life and career?

The answer is pretty obvious. My debut album “All That I Am” is what I'm the most proud of at this point. I'm really glad that together with Paul Scherer we had this great opportunity to write the tunes and record “All That I Am”
